Review: Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is a difficult game for me to review since I am so terrible at it. Sure I can beat the game on normal after a few tries, but one foray into the online world showed me that I have no idea what I am doing. I played a few rounds against panzerjedi online and had a lot of fun (I even beat him once or twice), but it showed me I had a lot to learn. So I dove into the training mode, and learned a few combos, and figured out how to do some air juggles and figured I was set to at least compete. I was wrong to a degree which I could never have imagined.

I jumped into an open room online, and after waiting for my match to come up I finally got to challenge someone who clearly had way more hours invested into the game than I did. He took out 2 of my characters at the same time, while I only hit him once…

All that said, I had a lot of fun with this game, and really enjoyed it. If you like fighting games then MvC3 is a great one. It is fast, great looking, and very deep.

But yeah… the competition out there is fierce…

RIFT

So, I got a chance to play Rift over the holiday break, and I am super impressed by how polished it is. There isn’t a lot of “new” stuff in it, but they seem to have taken the best of all the other mmo’s (wow included), and put it all into one great mmo. I don’t know if they will ever rival wow, but this is how you put out an mmo that has a chance. Great story, great game mechanics, and very stable. Good times all around. RIFT – Planes of Telara

Still here…

I am still around, and even occaisonally playing games. Recently, I have been playing (in no particular order): Fallout New Vegas, Toy Soldiers, Trials HD, and of course World of Warcraft. I am really looking forward to Cataclysm, and actually have 2 weeks off right after it comes out so I should have time to actually play it! Anyways, back to work for me, but I will leave you with this….

Currently Playing: Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising

I played Dawn of War 2 when it first came out and really enjoyed the single player campaign, but never really got into the multiplayer part of it. Now that I have been playing around with Chaos Rising I have found the new Last Man Standing mode they added a while back to really be a lot of fun, and playable in bite sized chunks.  I am currently playing a Chaos Sorcerer (lvl 7) and I think the farthest I have made it is wave 13, but I can see this being a great way to get some gaming in when I don’t have a lot of time in the future.

Currently Playing: Fronterville

Yes, I play Frontierville, and yes I even enjoy it. The game is limited in depth, a little buggy, and requires you to have a lot of friends who play to really get ahead. That said, it is a game that has enough stuff to earn and do that it is enjoyable, and the fact that you can spend just a few minutes a time playing it helps out a person who has little time for regular games. I would rather be playing WoW or TF2, but in the time it takes to setup one of those games, I do a lot in Frontierville and get back to work/life. That says a lot for a game, and also because of this, it is something a lot of my friends are doing as well.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is going to be insane

I have a love hate relationship with fighting games, mainly because I am not very good, but MvC3 is a game I will be playing. Watching the new trailer from Comic-con made me realize they are really going to put everyone in it.
